Griffin's goal is to help athletes develop in their mental and physical performance through training plans, coaching, consulting and education.

Griffin's certifications and training include:

  • IRONMAN Certified Coach

  • NASM - Certified Personal Trainer

  • NASM - Fitness Nutrition Specialist

As an athlete, Griffin led his high school team to multiple State Championship titles, as well as an individual title in the 3200m before running collegiately for Auburn University and taking a fifth year to start a master's program at Drake University. Despite these accolades, he started out as one of the least talented people on his team and improved through a combination of hard-work and thirst for knowledge of endurance sports.

  • Half-Marathon: 1:14:57

  • Marathon: 2:54:23 at Grandma's Marathon (Boston Qualifier!)

  • IRONMAN: Racing IRONMAN Wisconsin September 2017

In addition to his technical knowledge and experience, Griffin seeks out the council of other accomplished athletes and performance experts through his podcast Sweat Equity Radio, where he has interviewed National and Olympic caliber athletes, Sports Psychologists, and Sports Nutritionists.

We all have goals when it comes to our performance. Some are big, some are small, and some are ginormous, but all of them are important. As a coach my mission is to develop athletes that progress, perform, and play. Each of these aspects is equally important when working with an athlete. Progress is determined in the daily grind of training, working hard and smart to achieve your goals. Performance is determined on race day and encompasses not only results but also an athletes mentality and fortitude. Lastly, as important as the first two are, even for professional athletes there has to be an element of play, so I strive to balance all three.
